Dr. Houshang Makipour established the practice in Woodbridge, Virginia in 1987. He welcomed his associate, Dr. Kian Makipour in 2013. Our newest physician, Dr. Alexandra Modiri joined the practice in 2017. All of our physicians specialize in gastroenterology and are board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Modiri is also board certified in Obesity Medicine and practices medical weight loss. 

Our doctors specialize in general gastroenterology with a special interest in colon cancer screening, IBS, acid reflux, heartburn, medical weight loss and gastrointestinal health / wellness.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality gastroenterology care. We are dedicated to our patients and the practice is patient-centered. You will always be seen by one of our physicians during your visit. Our in office endoscopy suite, Northern Virginia Endoscopy Center LLC, is fully accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Our adenoma detection rate (ADR) in 2022 is 52.00% compared to the national benchmark of 25%. Amongst women, our ADR is 47% compared to the national benchmark of 20%. Amongst men, our ADR is 61% compared to the national benchmark of 30%.
